Jeffrey M. Barlow

Jeff Barlow, a Partner at Brigadier Consulting Group, has over 10 years of broadly based consulting experience. Mr. Barlow specializes in transportation and supply chain initiatives.

His experience includes a wide range of engagements utilizing his skills in meeting facilitation, project management, program creation, financial modeling, and data analysis.

Samples of his work include the following:

  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive approach to companywide productivity improvement for Fortune 500 company. This approach shifted the focus from functional optimization to asset optimization. By understanding the cross-functional effects of departmental decisions they are now able to identify the proper tradeoffs and generate new ideas for cost savings. This approach has resulted in over $1 Billion dollars being brought to the bottom line in 6 years.
  • Creation of a network analysis model for a large LTL carrier. The objective of this project was to determine the tradeoffs between customer service and cost in consideration of the number of terminals operated. The model replanned service areas allowing for significant reduction in terminal overhead while increasing service to the customer.
  • Development of an integrated forecasting model for a North American port authority. This model utilities several different sources of data to forecast volume, revenue, cost and cash flow. In addition, the model provides the ability to create "what if" scenarios through an intuitive user interface.
  • Evaluation and reorganization of a telecommunication provider's on location service office. In this project, the objective was to understand the best structure for supporting a geographically diverse client base in demand of a wide range of telecommunication services. The recommendation involved the formation of cross-functional regional teams. The teams can then focus on creating relationships with a smaller number of clients and developing "local" knowledge of their region.

Prior to joining Brigadier, Mr. Barlow worked as a Principal consultant for Norbridge, Inc. Previous to his experience there he was a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and a boutique supply chain consulting firm. Mr. Barlow received his BSE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Business Administration with Distinction from the Johnson School at Cornell University.
